The Message...

Choose our own way[ reject God, try to run our own lives, the result is condemnetion by God, death and judgement.] John 3: 36.

True worship
What shall I bring to Yahweh, the God of heaven, when I come to worship Him? Shall I bring the best calves to burn as offerings to Him? Will Yahweh be pleased if I bring Him thousands of sheep or endless streams of olive-oil? Shall I offer Him my first-born child to pay for my sins? No, Yahweh has told us what is good. What He requires of us is this: to do what is just, to show constant love, and to live in humble fellowship with our God. -Micah 6:6-8

WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR MESSAGE?
TO WHOM WILL THE LORD REVEAL HIS SAVING POWER?...
THERE WAS NOTHING BEAUTIFUL OR MAJESTIC ABOUT HIS APPEARANCE,
NOTHING TO ATTRACT US TO HIM
HE WAS DESPISED AND REJECTED-A MAN OF SORROWS
ACQUAINTED WITH BITTEREST GRIEF
WE TURNED OUR BACKS ON HIM AND LOOKED THE OTHER WAY WHEN HE WENT BY.
HE WAS DESPISED AND WE DID NOT CARE
YET IT WAS OUR WEAKNESSES THAT HE CARRIED;
IT WAS OUR SORROWS THAT WEIGHED HIM DOWN
AND WE THOUGHT HIS TROUBLES WERE A PUNISHMENT FROM GOD FOR HIS OWN SINS...
BUT HE WAS WOUNDED AND CRUSHED FOR OUR SINS
HE WAS BEATEN THAT WE MIGHT HAVE PEACE
HE WAS WHIPPED AND WE WERE HEALED
ALL OF US HAVE STRAYED AWAY LIKE SHEEP
WE HAVE LEFT GOD'S PATHS TO FOLLOW OUR OWN
YET THE LORD LAID ON HIM THE GUILT AND SINS OF US ALL
HE WAS OPPRESSED AND TREATED HARSHLY, YET HE NEVER SAID A WORD
FROM PRISON AND TRIAL THEY LED HIM AWAY TO HIS DEATH
BUT WHO AMONG THE PEOPLE REALISED THAT HE WAS DYING FOR THEIR SINS-
THAT HE WAS SUFFERING THEIR PUNISHMENT?
HE HAD DONE NO WRONG, AND HE NEVER DECEIVED ANYONE
BUT HE WAS BURIED LIKE A CRIMINAL; HE WAS PUT IN A RICH MAN'S GRAVE
BUT IT WAS YAHWEH'S GOOD PLAN TO CRUSH HIM AND FILL HIM WITH GRIEF
YET WHEN HIS LIFE IS MADE AN OFFERING OF SIN,
HE WILL HAVE A MULTITIDE OF CHILDREN, MANY HEIRS
HE WILL ENJOY A LONG LIFE,
AND THE LORD'S PLAN WILL PROSPER IN HIS HANDS
WHEN HE SEES ALL THAT IS ACCOMPLISHED BY HIS ANGUISH,
HE WILL BE SATISFIED.
AND BECAUSE OF WHAT HE HAS EXPERIENCED,

A Complex Book With A Simple Message
Now, when I was younger...and I must admit until a year ot two ago or something...well I knew the Bible was written by different people...but I guess I always assumed...ok I never really thought about it...but what I found out about the Bible and who wrote it e.t.c makes me believe in my Maker more and more. A Jehovah's witness lady told me this yonks ago...must have been 17 or something...that the Bible was written by different people over many years[and I mean many years] but it still carries the same message! I'm talking about 1500 years and 66 books of consistency by people from different backgrounds! We all know the story...God makes us, we eat the fruit, the Fall and later Jesus. Jesus doesn't even appear in Bible books until I think Meshack, Abednigo and Shadrack...or so you thought! Genesis 5 [the first Bible genealogy] actually mentions Jesus. I read this and it just blew me away...God has always had a plan...Moses and Matthew...milleniums apart...but the living God put His unchanging word into their hearts! Now this might be long but it's definitely worth the read!
The first genealogy we see in the Bible is ADAM to NOAH (Genesis 5). This genealogy will be important throughout the Bible (Old and New Testaments) for all sorts of reasons. However, in this study, we just want to toss-out a dramatic “evidence of design” based on the Hebrew roots of these ten names.
ADAM (adomah) means “man.” This one makes absolute sense, since he’s the first one.
SETH means “appointed.” Eve said, “For God has appointed me another seed instead of Abel , whom Cain slew.”
ENOSH (anash) means “mortal,” “frail” or “miserable,” used in the context of incurable grief, sickness, woe or wickedness. It was in the days of Enosh that Man began to defile God.
KENAN means “sorrow”, “dirge” or “elegy.” Again, this was a dark period of history, and parents traditionally used names that referred to circumstances at birth, etc.
MAHALALEL (mahalal) means “blessed” or “praise” and (El) was the name for God. Therefore, Mahalalel traditionally means “the blessed God”. (Side note: you’ll see that many Hebrew names include El, such as Dani-el, “God is my Judge,” Nathani-el, “Gift of God,” etc.)
JARED (yaradh) means “shall come down.” Many scholars attribute this to the time when the “sons of God” “came down” to Earth to corrupt the daughters of men, resulting in the Nephilim (“fallen ones”).
ENOCH means “teaching” or “commencement.” Later in the Bible, we find that Enoch was the first of four generations of preachers.
METHUSELAH (muth) means “death” and (shalach) means “to bring” or “to send forth.” Therefore, his entire name means “his death shall bring.”
LAMECH (root still evident in today’s English meaning “lament”) means in Hebrew context here “despairing.”
NOAH (nacham) means “to bring relief” or “comfort.”
Now if we line it all up, here is what we get:

The art of blogging
Oh well, I guess it was inevitable that I would start my own blog some day! Thank you so much for coming here...I hope I will be able to maintain this blog though...my name is spelt L-A-Z-Y! The title of the blog 'be still and know' comes from Psalms 46:10 which reads 'be still and know that I am God, I will be exalted among the nations. I will be exalted in the earth.' It's my new favourite scripture now...especially since ITS EVERYWHERE I GO! Right, let's do this thing!
